SPECIAL NEEDS ACCESS STATEMENT

The following access arrangements are now in place:

YOUR ARRIVAL

We will greet you at your vehicle outside the main entrance of the hotel.

We do have a drop-off point available directly outside our hotel on the promenade or directly outside our main entrance for coaches and cars. (This area is subject to a 5-minute drop off restriction, as from the 1st April 2024)

Parking is available on site. Parking is on a "first-come, first-serve" basis. In our rear car park, we can accommodate up to approximately 30 cars and an additional 6 on the forecourt (including 2 Disabled Spaces). There is plenty of on-street parking in the area and is usually free of charge after 4pm

In order to get our porters to assist in bringing your luggage into the hotel, we suggest when arriving at the hotel you park directly in front of the entrance to the hotel. You can then enter the hotel, check-in at reception and our porters can assist in bringing your luggage in.

Reception will issue you with a car park token which must be displayed in the dashboard of your car when parking in our car park.

Other car parking options are:

Parking On the Promenade - blue badge holders are free. Car parking on the Llandudno Promenade is free between 4pm and 10am

Non-blue badge holders are required to pay at the roadside meter as follows:

Summer period [1st May-30th Sept] £5.50 for over 4 hours or £7.50 for up to 4 hours Winter period [1st Oct-30th April] £3.80 for over 4 hours or £5.40. The parking meter is located directly outside the hotel [on the promenade]

Our main hotel car park is located at the rear of the building. Unfortunately, there is no access into the hotel from the main car park, therefore a walk of between 60 and 90 metres to our main entrance if necessary

MAIN ENTRANCE/RECEPTION FACILITIES

We will assist a guest in accessing the hotel, either via the sloped entrance located at the front of the hotel or via steps at our main front entrance.

We will customise your check-in procedure in order to make a special needs guest as comfortable as possible.

Receptionist staff are available between 7am and 11pm. Should assistance be required out of these hours, the night-porter will attend to your needs.

It is a necessary procedure for our check-in staff/receptionist to take specific details of all special needs guests. These details are necessary so that they can be logged and monitored on a daily basis, for emergency evacuation procedures and assistance required in an evacuation occurrence until such time as the guest departs. These details include the following information: 1} Guest name 2} Location of guest [room number] 3} Name of carer + room number of carer [if applicable] 4} Assistance required in an emergency evacuation 5} Arrival + departure dates 6} Basic details of special needs.

YOUR ACCOMMODATION

We will assist you in accessing your allocated room [via a lift]. The lift car is 1000mm x 1000mm square and the doors open 800 mm wide.

We have three bedrooms within the hotel that are accessible. All are fitted with low-level switches for lights, low-level sinks, high toilets, emergency cords, low-access baths and double or twin beds.

Within the specially adapted bedrooms & bathrooms, we have various emergency facilities:

  1. Emergency pull cord alarm systems - within bedroom+ bathroom the alarm activates at reception and assistance is sent immediately.
  2. The fire alarm sensors are also sounders.

All bedroom floors and room numbers are clearly displayed as the guest leaves the lift.

All bedroom corridor doors are a minimum of 750mm wide to allow access for wheelchairs and other special needs equipment.

A telephone is available in each room. Depending on your room, some have two phones. Should you need assistance with this facility, the receptionist will arrange a ‘room visit'.

Certain bedrooms on each floor are only accessible via a couple of steps. If you cannot use steps you should make the reservationist aware of this during your check-in procedure.

PUBLIC AREAS

We have one passenger lift which allows access to all four bedroom levels. The lift has been fitted with an automatic self-levelling device when stopping at each level, plus, the floor select buttons have raised brail codes.

The hotel has a fully adapted special needs [unisex] compliant toilet facility, located on the ground floor. The doors to access this facility are a minimum of 750mm wide to allow access for wheelchairs or other special needs equipment.

The hotel has an internal stairlift for use if a guest needs to access our Wedgwood, Isaiah or Cadw rooms either for restaurant or conference use. The stairlift weight limit is 18 stone. A member of staff will always be on hand to assist in the use of this equipment.

With the exception of our Wedgewood, Menai, Isaiah or Cadw room Conference or restaurant facilities, the remainder of the ground floor is on one level and all doors are a minimum of 750mm wide.

None of our conference rooms or restaurants has the facility of an induction loop system. Variable seating arrangements can be arranged upon request.

AT YOUR SERVICE

Our bar or ‘the terrace' staff, will be happy to assist you in locating a suitable sitting area. The staff will also take your order for food or drink when you are ready.

Special dietary requirements can be met providing we have sufficient advance notice.

Please ensure to inform our ‘terrace' staff of these requirements if you wish to dine in the area.

A mini-fridge is available (£15 per night) during your stay for such things as specific medication which requires refrigerated storage. Please ask reception who will arrange delivery of the fridge to your room.

We have 24hr room service available, for those finding difficulty in accessing restaurants or bar areas.

The outside platform lift next to the disabled car parking bay MUST ONLY, be operated by a fully trained member of staff who will be pleased to assist you in entering or exiting the building. We also have the facility of a call button located at [outside ground level] which alerts staff to attend and assist as necessary

Should the fire alarm activate during your stay, we will send assistance if required to assist you out of the building [assistance requirements will be noted during your check-in procedure].

OUT AND ABOUT

The distance into the centre of town from the hotel is no more than 60 Metres from our main entrance

The distance to the nearest shop mobility is approximately ¼ of a mile from the hotel located on the main shopping street [Lloyd Street]. The receptionist or reservations will be pleased to arrange equipment on hire [to your specification], which will be delivered here prior to your arrival at the hotel and collected from the hotel upon your departure.

Assistance in the use of your mechanical or electronic wheelchair or scooter can be provided throughout your stay. Should you require equipment in or out of your vehicle, assistance can also be provided in these circumstances.

We have limited traffic calming measures on [Somerset Street] which leads to our main rear car parking areas. None of the roads through the town centre have traffic calming facilities.

The main bus routes collect from a bus stop located outside Clinton cards on the main shopping street [Lloyd Street] which is approximately 100 metres from the hotel main entrance. Our receptionists can also provide a taxi upon request which will collect you directly outside the hotel main entrance.

YOUR DEPARTURE

Your luggage will be collected from your room by a porter and taken to your car or coach. If you have travelled by private car, your car can be brought around to the front entrance [at request] and your luggage placed into your car under your supervision.

Assistance getting into your car can be provided if required.

Assistance in placing mechanical or electronic wheelchairs or scooters into your vehicle can be provided at request.

We will customise your ‘check-out' process by making you as comfortable as possible whilst all necessary paperwork has been completed.
