Discover North Wales

Welcome to Wales - The Year of Discovery

2019 is the Year of Discovery...

...perfect for outdoor lovers, thrill seekers, culture and heritage buffs or festival goers. Celebrate North Wales' unique history, natural attractions, stunning coastline and mountains and of course some of the best food and drink you’ll find anywhere!

There’s something for every kind of explorer in North Wales, whether you’re looking to walk a stretch of the world’s only continuous coastal path, hugging Wales’ shores for 870 miles, with some of the most spectacular views through Conwy and Snowdonia; Europe’s longest zip line and the chance to explore the many castles – which include Conwy, Denbigh and Beaumaris.

With a fifth of Wales designated as national park, it is full of big landscapes and endless views. With the lighter evenings of Spring here and the long days and milder weather of summer just around the corner the North Wales landscape is made for long hikes, whether you plan to conquer Britain’s third-highest mountain, Snowdon, or a gentler peak of the Great Orme.

Wales’ dramatic interior landscape is not its only draw — the rugged coast of Anglesey is also unmissable, being designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) which covers 95% of the coast. It passes through landscape that includes a mixture of farmland, coastal heath, dunes, salt-marsh, foreshore, cliffs and a few small pockets of woodland.

If you needed any more reason to visit North Wales right now, we also have our calendar of special events happening every single month, including a Prosecco and Piano evening and even a Bollywood Night. Whenever you visit, you can be sure of a warm Welsh welcome.
