Historic seaview St George’s Hotel in Llandudno is pleased to announce the appointment of John Wynne as the new Head Chef of the Hotel.

John has gained a wealth of experience working in a number of leading restaurants throughout North Wales but started his illustrious catering career at St George’s where he began as a Commis Chef, working up to a Chef de Partie. John then moved on to the Kinmel Arms, Robinsons in Chester, The Manor in Conwy and more recently John has been Head Chef of Bryn Williams in Porth Eirias.

Commenting on his appointment, John said,

“I’m excited to be back to St George’s, I have always had a great fondness of the hotel and I am excited to be working with such an experienced and enthusiastic kitchen brigade. Having worked in a number of restaurants in North Wales I am looking forward to coming back and bringing my experience and love of the amazing produce of Wales into the kitchen.

Speaking of the new appointment, Mr Philip Newmarch, General Manager of St George’s Hotel, commented.

“John is joining the team at the perfect time, we have just completed a refurbishment of our Terrace Restaurant, Lounge and Bar areas which has created more intimate dining spaces, increased the covers and made sure more tables benefit from the amazing sea views across the Bay of Llandudno. We are thrilled that John has come back on board, his valued experience will go a long way in ensuring the food served in the Restaurant, Lounge and of course at the many functions and events will be some of the best in all of Wales."

St George’s has 81 beautifully decorated rooms with air-conditioning, high speed internet access, LCD TVs, luxurious Egyptian cotton duvets and many offer stunning views across the bay of Llandudno.

Among the bedrooms are the new Rooftop Rooms which were completed in 2017. These rooms capitalise on their elevated position and stunning Orme to Orme view by having large glass patio doors leading out onto a panoramic seaview balcony. The rooms also benefit from having some of the latest in-room technology, stunning bathrooms with walk in shower plus ‘His and Hers’ sinks and guests are able to enjoy a personal concierge service offering a range of tailored services.

The hotel has a variety of dining options to suit all tastes including the AA Rosette winning Terrace Restaurant, serving a mouth-watering selection of dishes sourced within Conwy and North Wales. The Terrace Lounge serves light lunches, traditional afternoon teas and the best espresso and cappuccino in the area.

St George’s Hotel has seven function rooms including the stunning Grade II listed Wedgwood Suite which is one of the largest function rooms in North Wales and has hosted many prestigious events in its 165-year history including political party conferences for Labour, Conservatives and Liberal Democrats, esteemed Guests have included Winston Churchill among others.
